India's Covid-19 tally on Wednesday crossed 7.2 million mark to reach 7,239,389 with 63,509 new cases in last 24 hours. A day ago, the country had recorded 55,342 new cases of coronavirus, as per the health ministry’s dashboard, continuing with its recent downward trend of new cases per day. Also on Tuesday, Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had said the government expects a Covid-19 vaccine by early 2021 from more than source, as he chaired the 21st Group of Ministers (GoM) meeting on coronavirus.

Tuesday also witnessed Delhi’s iconic Akshardham temple reopen for the first time in March. Maharashtra, with over 1.5 million cases, remains the worst-affected state, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Globally, United States, India and Brazil continue to be the worst-hit countries.

YouTube to remove Covid-19 vaccine misinformation
YouTube said Wednesday it would take down content which contradicts expert consensus about Covid-19 vaccines, updating its policies on misinformation about the pandemic. The move is the latest by online platforms struggling to contain the spread of hoaxes and false information about Covid-19 and treatments, reports AFP.
Chhattisgarh's Covid-19 tally crosses 150,000
Chhattisgarh's Covid-19 tally climbed to 150,696 on Wednesday after 2,830 people were detected with the infection, while the number of people who have recovered reached 121,548, an official said. Thirty-three deaths were recorded in the state taking the death toll to 1,339, he added, reports PTI.
