The last day of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2020 concluded with a live concert of singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad. The evening saw several global icons talking about subjects including the way ahead in India-US ties as president-elect Joe Biden seeks to take over the White House soon, the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on mental health and the evolution of cinema.

Mark Warner, who was re-elected for a third term in the US Senate in November and is vice chairman of the Senate select committee on intelligence, was in conversation with Dr Mukesh Aghi, the president and chief executive of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). Apart from the state of US politics, they discussed the standoff between India and China and also Biden’s likely stand against the latter.

Hindustan Times’ health and science editor Sanchita Sharma conducted the second session with Vikram Patel, professor of global health at Harvard Medical School, who said the extraordinary certainties due to the pandemic have impacted everyone.

The next was a very lively session conducted by managing editor, entertainment And lifestyle, Sonal Kalra with actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas and multi-award-winning singer, songwriter Nick Jonas who spoke about the importance of giving back to society and using her platform as a global icon.

The summit concluded with a brief conversation with singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad who said while writing songs he ends up sticking to concepts that are universal. He then performed a medley of his songs for HT viewers.

The prestigious summit is being held virtually amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and aims to discuss the new realities with its theme of 'Defining a New Era'. The live discussions were spread over four weeks starting November 19 and were held every Thursday and Friday.
