Marking key developments in the case on Saturday, top officials of the Yogi Adityanath-led government have been rushed to meet the family members of 19-year-old Dalit woman who was allegedly gang-raped and assaulted by four men in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras village on September 14.
The district administration had clamped prohibitory orders in the village, restricting access of people to the victim's family members on Saturday.
In a second attempt, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have decided to go to Hathras on Saturday afternoon to meet the family of the 19-year-old victim who died earlier this week in Delhi.

'All parents must teach their daughters good values': BJP's Surendra Singh
UP BJP MLA from Ballia Surendra Singh said that parents who have daughters should emphasize upon imparting good values. He said these incidents can be curbed if the government and people work together. He said harsh punishments might not deter people from committing such acts again.

'Determined to ensure the harshest punishment': UP CM Adityanath
UP CM Yogi Adityanath said the state government is seeking an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation for a probe into all aspects linked to the Hathras episode.
“We are determined to ensure the harshest punishment for all those responsible for this incident,” he tweeted in Hindi.
