Parliament had passed the legislations amid acrimonious scenes
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday started his second tractor rally in Punjab against the Centre's contentious agricultural laws. The Congress leader is in Sangrur and will also hold rallies in Bhawanigarh and Samana against the three laws.
On the first day of the party's three-day 'Kheti Bachao Yatra,' in Ludhiana, Gandhi had on Sunday promised to scrap the controversial laws the moment Congress returns to power at the Centre. Questioning prime minister Narendra Modi, who has repeatedly hailed the agricultural laws, Gandhi had asked why farmers across the country are protesting if they are happy with the laws. Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and a host of other Congress leaders accompanied Gandhi on the first day of the rally.
