Delhi Fire Highlights: FIR against factory owner, case shifted to crime branch

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday expressed his deepest condolence to the family of the deceased in the fire incident.

Delhi minister Imran Hussain on Delhi fire: It is a tragic incident. Investigation will be conducted and action will be taken against whoever is responsible for it.

Delhi Fire service director Atul Garg said the fire started around 5 am in a five storey building where around 60-70 people were sleeping, most of them contractual labourers and factory workers.

Deputy commissioner of police, (North), Monika Bhardwaj confirmed that at least 32 of those rescued and rushed to hospitals were pronounced dead.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal described the news as “very, very tragic”.

At least 32 people were killed and more than 25 had to be shifted to hospital after a fire broke out at a cardboard factory in north Delhi’s Rani Jhansi Road during the early hours on Sunday.
