Monday was the fourth-straight day that India reported the biggest one-day rise in the number of coronavirus infections and more than 6,000 Covid-19 cases. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are over 1.38 lakh Covid-19 cases in the country including 4,021 deaths from the disease.
Meanwhile, air travel across the country resumed on Monday, after a gap of two months, with states announcing varied quarantine and self-isolation rules for arriving passengers to address misgivings about infections being brought in from other cities.

On the global front, Brazil registered 653 deaths in the last 24 hours with the death toll climbing to 22,666. Brazil currently is the second worst affected nation after the United States. In view of this, United States has suspended travel from the Latin American nation.

Chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that coronavirus cases have gone up in the state due to relaxations in lockdown. But he assured that there is nothing to worry about unless the number of cases or mortality rate increases rapidly, reports ANI.

Covid-19 containment zones in Delhi mount to 90
The total number of coronavirus containment zones in the national capital have gone up to 90, with 3 new zones added. 41 zones have been de-contained so far in the state, reports ANI.

Hertz Global Holdings Inc., the car-rental company which filed for bankruptcy earlier, said the collapse in air travel amid the coronavirus pandemic hit its biggest source of rental revenue, reports Bloomberg.

Domestic flights resume in Karnataka
As domestic air travel resumed after nearly two months of lockdown, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport will see nearly 107 flights departing and about hundred arrivals, as it begins operations. As per sources, the first flight out was an Air Asia aircraft to Ranchi that departed with about 176 passengers, while the first arrival was a flight from Chennai with around 113 passengers, reports PTI.

Four more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh, taking the number of cases in the state to 208, while a 72-year-old woman died due to the disease at a hospital here, officials said. The death toll in the state stands at 5, reports PTI.
