Domestic flights across the country resumed today. All states agreed to accept some flights but have announced different set of quarantine and isolation rules for arriving passengers.

Monday was the fourth-straight day that India reported the biggest one-day rise in the number of coronavirus infections and more than 6,000 Covid-19 cases. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are over 1.38 lakh Covid-19 cases in the country including 4,021 deaths from the disease.

Meanwhile, air travel across the country resumed on Monday, after a gap of two months, with states announcing varied quarantine and self-isolation rules for arriving passengers to address misgivings about infections being brought in from other cities.

On the global front, Brazil registered 653 deaths in the last 24 hours with the death toll climbing to 22,666. Brazil currently is the second worst affected nation after the United States. In view of this, United States has suspended travel from the Latin American nation.

Delhi govt issues guidelines for domestic air/train/interstate bus travel

Delhi government on Monday issued guidelines for domestic travel (Air/Train/Interstate bus travel).

Asymptomatic persons will be permitted to go with advice that they shall self-monitor their health for 14 days. In case they develop any symptoms, they shall inform concerned DDMA/state helpline number.

All passengers shall be advised to download Aarogya Setu app on their mobile devices: ANI

Maharashtra's Covid-19 tally rises to 52,667, death toll at 1,695

Maharashtra reported 2,436 new Covid-19 patients today, taking the total number of cases to 52,667, according to state health department.

The state recorded 60 deaths while 1,186 patients were discharged today. The death toll in the state is now 1,695 deaths while 15,786 have been discharged.

Of the fatalities, 38 are in Mumbai, 11 in Pune, 3 in Navi Mumbai, 2 each in Thane city and Aurangabad city, and one each in Solapur, Kalyan-Dombivli and Ratnagiri. Additionally, one death of a Bihar resident occurred in Mumbai.

Number of domestic flights set to increase: Civil Aviation Minister

Union Civil Aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Monday evening that

the number of domestic flights are set to increase further when Andhra and West Bengal resume operations in the coming days.

"From no domestic passenger flights yesterday to 532 flights & 39,231 passengers today, action has returned to Indian skies. With Andhra Pradesh set to resume operations from tomorrow & West Bengal from 28 May, these numbers are all set to increase further," he said in a tweet.
