Highlights: Maharashtra's Covid-19 tally rises to 52,667, death toll at 1,695

Biggest single-day rise of 459 Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra's Pune district, according to an official, reports PTI.

With this, the total number of cases in the district is now 6,153 and the death toll is 280 with 8 more fatalities reported today

Delhi government on Monday issued guidelines for domestic travel (Air/Train/Interstate bus travel).

Asymptomatic persons will be permitted to go with advice that they shall self-monitor their health for 14 days. In case they develop any symptoms, they shall inform concerned DDMA/state helpline number.

Maharashtra reported 2,436 new Covid-19 patients today, taking the total number of cases to 52,667, according to state health department.

The state recorded 60 deaths while 1,186 patients were discharged today. The death toll in the state is now 1,695 deaths while 15,786 have been discharged.

Of the fatalities, 38 are in Mumbai, 11 in Pune, 3 in Navi Mumbai, 2 each in Thane city and Aurangabad city, and one each in Solapur, Kalyan-Dombivli and Ratnagiri. Additionally, one death of a Bihar resident occurred in Mumbai.

Union Civil Aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Monday evening that

the number of domestic flights are set to increase further when Andhra and West Bengal resume operations in the coming days.

"From no domestic passenger flights yesterday to 532 flights & 39,231 passengers today, action has returned to Indian skies. With Andhra Pradesh set to resume operations from tomorrow & West Bengal from 28 May, these numbers are all set to increase further," he said in a tweet.

Police officers began checking passes & IDs of people at the Delhi-Ghaziabad border on Monday evening after the Ghaziabad district administration issued orders that the border would be sealed. A person working at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi has tested positive for Covid-19, reports PTI.

According to the news agency, this is the fifth case in less than two weeks in the same building.

Fifteen more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Uttarakhand on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 332, reports PTI.

Four Covid-19 patients have died in the state, according to a health department bulletin. It said that three of them were suffering from other ailments. The cause of the death of the fourth patient is not clear as yet, it said.

A 58-year-old sanitation supervisor at AIIMS in New Delhi has died of Covid-19. He had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to hospital sources: PTI

Delhi-Ghaziabad border is to be sealed like it was done during lockdown 2, till further orders, according to the Ghaziabad District Administration.
