With the Union health ministry confirming five new cases of novel coronavirus in Kerala on Sunday, the total number of those testing positive for the virus in India went up to 39.. Authorities have also decided to have dedicated aero bridges at airports for flights from USA, Spain and France in view of the rising number of cases of COVID-19 in these countries. This is in addition to the 12 countries already identified by the government earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of novel coronavirus cases in the world stood at 105,836, including 3,595 deaths, across 95 countries and territories on Sunday, according to a report compiled by AFP from official sources.
Iran reported 49 new deaths on Sunday, taking the total number of fatalities to 194. Italy, with the most number of deaths outside China, put a vast swathe of the norther region under lock down, cutting off over 15 million people from the rest of the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Bangladesh confirmed its first three cases of novel coronavirus.

The bus in which Italian passengers travelled in Rajasthan and Agra was disinfected by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Chhawla camp in Delhi. Fourteen Italians and one Indian (driver) were later found positive for Coronavirus.

NIV scientists working 'round-the-clock' to ensure smooth coronavirus testing across India
Armed with special protective gear — including safety gowns, spectacles, N-95 masks and gloves — scientists at the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune are working "round-the-clock" to ensure smooth testing of samples for the deadly coronavirus, while hand-holding associate centres spread across the country.
'Working closely with Indian authorities': Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways said it is working closely with Indian health authorities after some people who had travelled on one of its flights to Kochi tested positive for coronavirus infection, reports PTI.
Of the five people who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, three - a couple and their son- had evaded health screening at the airport on their return about a week ago. The three had taken a Qatar Airways flight (QR 126) from Venice to Doha and took a flight (QR 154) from Doha to Kochi. They arrived in Kochi on March 1. "In relation to reports that passengers with suspected coronavirus were on Qatar Airways flight QR514 Doha to Kochi on February 29, we can confirm that Qatar Airways is working closely with Indian health authorities," the airline said in a statement.

Carolyn Wright, a passenger in the Grand Princess cruise ship, told AFP that the cruise ship will dock at the Oakland port on Sunday. California governor G Newsom had given permission to the vessel to dock according to reports.

All five individuals are kept in isolation wards of Pathanamthitta general hospital. Three of these individuals belong to the 50-60 years age bracket. Two of them are below thirty years of age.

23 rapid response medical units have been rushed to the Pathanamthitta district. The three infected among the five travelled to Kochi from Doha with 350 others on a Qatar Airways flight. The government has asked the co-passengers to report immediately.
