Originating from a seafood and poultry market in Wuhan, covid-19 crossed borders and affected international markets, places of worship in Iran and the Vatican, dealt a blow to Japan's 2020 Olympics preparations forcing G-20 nations and their central banks to come together to find means to tackle the outbreak which the World Health Organisation has graded 'very high' in terms risk to human life. In India, 34 cases have been diagnosed and 31,000 have been put under quarantine across several hospitals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked citizens to stay safe and not pay attention to any rumors regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

Chinese complain that measures taken to contain coronavirus are at times humiliating
The Chinese people have expressed their anger and concern over arbitrary measures taken by the government to contain coronavirus outbreak. From stepping into common spaces to imposing quarantine on anyone travelling from affected nations, Chinese public are outraged on Communist Party's means and methods employed to tackle the outbreak, an AFP report said.
US asks nationals to reconsider travelling to Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have not reported as many cases of coronavirus but both nations border Iran. US had earlier asked its nationals to not travel to the West Asian country which has reported 107 deaths so far due to coronavirus
Mexico reports its 6th case of coronavirus
Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell said a 71-year-old man who had travelled from Northern Italy to Mexico City is currently in a serious condition and has been kept under quarantine.
Coronavirus not an epidemic in Punjab: State government
The Punjab government said that the advisory on coronavirus issued earlier was a precautionary measure and there has been no official declaration of an epidemic in the state.

As coronavirus outbreak threatens people's health, livelihoods and world economy, Sanjay Gupta, BJP MLA from Laksar, Uttarakhand has suggested performing 'yagna' - a holy Hindu ritual, and drinking cow urine and consuming cow dung can cure and prevent an individual from coronavirus.
Centre had earlier asked people to take measures to stop passing on misinformation regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

UN Peacekeeping routines feel covid-19 heat
UN has asked India, China, South Korea and France along with 5 other nations to delay their rotations of their UN peacekeeping forces by 3 months due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Blue Helmets, have around 100,000 people in peacekeeping operations across 15 nations.
Agra mayor requests Centre to close down Taj Mahal
Agra Mayor Naveen Jain has urged the Centre to close down all historical monuments in the city in order to prevent a covid-19 outbreak. He told ANI, "Foreign tourists in large numbers visit Agra, this increases the chances of spread of coronavirus in the city. I urge the Government of India to close all historical monuments in the country including the Taj Mahal till the time situation doesn't come under control,"
South Korea reports 174 new coronavirus cases
South Korea reported 174 new covid-19 cases. The numbers which are in triple figures could signal that along side Iran, South Korea remains the only Asian country till now to have faced the force of covid-19 other than China, which has seen the worst of this epidemic. A total of 6,767 people are affected by the virus in South Korea.
