Confirmed Covid-19 cases worldwide exceed 375,000: WHO
Several nations, including India, remain under lockdown as coronavirus pandemic shows no signs of abating. Markets across the world opened slightly higher as US pushed a $2 trillion dollar package to help the economy fight pack Covid-19's effects. Asian markets also saw some respite as Sensex closed 1,800 points higher. Death toll soared in Spain and Italy, with the former now having more coronavirus deaths than China - where the disease had originated in a seafood market in Wuhan province. India reported 606 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths till Wednesday, of which 43 people have recovered.

Ivanka Trump lauds Indian hotel chain OYO for offering free stays to doctors in US
Ivanka Trump, the senior advisor to President Donald Trump, has lauded an initiative by Ritesh Agarwal-founded Indian start-up OYO Hotels to offer free stays to doctors, nurses in the US helping in the fight against the novel coronavirus, describing the gesture as “impactful acts of benevolence”, reports PTI.
She made her comment as she retweeted a press release by the OYO, which said that the start-up is "opening the doors to its hotels" and offering free stays to doctors, nurses and other medical first responders who are helping in the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Russian citizens, stranded in India, flown back
About 388 Russian citizens who were stranded in India were flown back to Russia by a special Aeroflot flight, reports ANI.

South Korea said it will send medical equipment to the United States to fight the coronavirus if it has any spare after an urgent request from U.S. President Donald Trump in which he promised to help Korean firms gain U.S. government approval, reports Reuters.

54-yr-old with no travel history dies of coronavirus in TN
A 54-year-old man with no travel history has died of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu.
He died on Tuesday night in Rajaji hospital in Madurai. State health minister has confirmed it. He was chronic diabetic and had acute respiratory problems and was on steroid
