Several nations, including India, remain under lockdown as coronavirus pandemic shows no signs of abating. Markets across the world opened slightly higher as US pushed a $2 trillion dollar package to help the economy fight pack Covid-19's effects. Asian markets also saw some respite as Sensex closed 1,800 points higher. Death toll soared in Spain and Italy, with the former now having more coronavirus deaths than China - where the disease had originated in a seafood market in Wuhan province. India reported 606 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths till Wednesday, of which 43 people have recovered.

Maharashtra Covid-19 tally 116: State health minister
The current count of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra is 116, says health minister Tope. In Sangli, five people from one family have been identified as positive due to contacts and four people from Mumbai are identified as positive due to travel history or contacts, he said.
