As scientists and governments race to find a cure for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), a vaccine developed in China has been found to be safe and effective in its first test on humans, raising hope for an early candidate that could help make people immune to the viral pandemic.
India is preparing to resume domestic flights from May 25. Three states – Karnataka, Punjab and Kerala – have decided on a 14-day quarantine for passengers, with variations. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday, there are over 1.31 lakh Covid-19 cases including 3,867 deaths due to the infection.

Across the world, the number of novel coronavirus cases has passed 5.25 million with more than 339,000 deaths, according to a tally from official sources compiled by AFP.

Civil aviation minister Hardeep Puri said as per the guidelines, asymptomatic domestic passengers will be permitted to go with the advice that they shall self-monitor their health for 14 days. In case, they develop any symptoms, they shall inform the district surveillance officer or the state/national call center. He also said the guidelines mention that states can develop their own quarantine protocols.
Health Ministry issues guidelines for domestic and international travel
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in view of travel restrictions being eased amid the coronavirus outbreak issued guidelines for international and domestic travel. Some of the guidelines including wearing face covers/masks during the entire journey, following social distancing norms and thermal screening done by airports across all states and union territories.

It was wrong to impose lockdown suddenly: Uddhav Thackeray
On the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown which will end on May 31, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said that it was wrong to impose lockdown suddenly and it cannot end it all at once, reports PTI.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said there was a projection that the state could have 1.15 lakh coronavirus cases by May end. But, currently there are 33,786 Covid-19 cases, around 13,404 have recovered. He thanked the people of Maharashtra for maintaining discipline and lauded the government's decision to impose lockdown in order to contain the spread of the infection.

107-year old woman from Iran recovers from virus
A 107-year-old Iranian woman who was infected with coronavirus has recovered, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported. The woman, Saltanat Akbari, was admitted to the Khansari hospital in the central city of Arak. She was released from the hospital after spending "some time" in isolation, reports Reuters.
