The border between Delhi and Ghaziabad has been sealed as a measure to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Andhra Pradesh has reported 35 new Covid-19 positive cases so far today .These include three each in Ananthpur and Krishna, nine in Guntur, six in Kadapa, 10 in Kurnool and four in West Godavari district. Italy will announce before the end of this week its plans for the gradual reopening from a lockdown imposed to fight the coronavirus emergency that will be applied starting from May 4, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Tuesday, reports Reuters.

"I wish I could say: let's reopen everything. Immediately. We start tomorrow morning ... But such a decision would be irresponsible. It would make the contagion curve go up in an uncontrolled way and would nullify all the efforts we have made so far," Conte wrote in a Facebook post.

"We must act on the basis of a national (reopening) plan, which however takes into account the territorial peculiarities."

A man working as a housekeeper in Lok Sabha has reportedly tested positive for the Covid19 virus, making it the first case among the 3,000-odd staff working at the Lok Sabha secretariat.

The man works for one of the establishments of the Lok Sabha Secretariat and not at the main Parliament complex.

The special Housekeeper, according to three officials, was at home since the budget session of Parliament was adjourned on March 23.

Six more Covid-19 deaths in Gujarat; state toll rises to 77: Health official.

According to news agency PTI, 127 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state on Tuesday, taking the tally to 2,066.

Delhi's health minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday that rapid testing for Covid-19 began the city's Nabi Karim area yesterday during which 74 people were tested. He said all of them tested negative for the disease. : ANI

Maharashtra recorded 472 new Covid-19 cases till 10 am today, according to its public health department, reports news agency ANI.

This takes the total count of positive coronavirus cases in the worst-affected state in India to 4,676.

Nine more deaths have been reported in the state from the virus, taking the death toll to 232.

Rajasthan recorded 52 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the state's virus tally to 1,628, an official said. The state has so far seen 25 deaths due to the virus, with Jaipur accounting for 13 deaths, reports PTI.

Three police personnel in Delhi's Nabi Karim area have tested positive for Covid-19. Their test results came yesterday, said Delhi Police, according to news agency ANI.

Nabi Karim area is one of the 84 containment zones in the national capital.

7 more COVID-19 cases have been reported from Nagpur district, said the district officials on Tuesday. "With 7 more people confirmed of coronavirus in Nagpur district today, the total number of cases here has reached 88," said District officials, reports ANI.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on March 2 dissolved the Parliament, six months ahead of schedule and called a snap election on April 25.

BrahMos Aerospace, the Indo- Russian joint venture that makes missiles, has given 500 PPE kits and 2,500 N-95 masks to the Jabalpur district administration in Madhya Pradesh to help in the fight against coronavirus, reports PTI.

The missile company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Sudhir Kumar Mishra assured that they will provide more assistance to Jabalpur whenever required, a state public relations official said on Tuesday.

"The country's prestigious BrahMos Aerospace has given 500 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, 2,500 N-95 masks and 30 thermal scanners to the Jabalpur district administration, he said.
