In third tranche of measures to support Covid-19 battered Indian economy, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced 11 measures today focusing on agriculture, fisheries, dairy, animal husbandry, some aspects of food processing and allied activities.
India’s tally of Covid-19 cases is nearing 82,000 including 2,649 deaths, according to the Union health ministry figures released on Friday. However, the number of Covid-19 tests carried out in the country crossed 2 million on Thursday, doubling in 12 days.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has now said that no money will be charged from migrant labourers for the special trains that are being arranged on the request of the state, reports news agency IANS.
"The Chief Minister has decided that no money will be charged from migrant labourers coming on trains run on the state's request to the railways. For this, advance payment will be given to the railways," said Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Avanish Awasthi.
Germany's confirmed coronavirus cases rise by 913 to 173,152
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 913 to 173,152, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed on Friday, reports Reuters.
The reported death toll rose by 101 to 7,824, the tally showed.

As per the state health department, 55 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Rajasthan, taking the state tally to 4,589. So far, 125 people in Rajasthan have lost their lives due to the infection, reports ANI.

The total number of cases now stand at 81, 970 . These include 51,401 active cases and 2,649 deaths.
DTC starts bus shuttle service for passengers arriving at New Delhi station
Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has started bus shuttle services for railway passengers arriving at New Delhi Railway Station, amid the lockdown due to Covid-19, reports ANI. The passengers are dropped off at Shivaji Stadium and Ambedkar Stadium from where they are given further change over of transport.
"The services started yesterday (Thursday). We have made 29 trips today so far and cleared the passengers of 2 trains. 7 more trains are scheduled to arrive. 21 buses are parked here, GK Sharma, Senior Manager, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC),told ANI.

Indian Navy ship INS Jalashwa berthed alongside Maldives Ports Ltd in the early hours today, reports ANI. Immigration/Check-in activities have commenced at Velana International Airport for embarking the Indian Navy ship. Vatican to introduce temperature checks at St. Peter's Basilica
People attending Masses in St. Peter's and other papal basilicas in Rome will have their temperature checked as part of measures to contain the spread of coronavirus, the Vatican said on Thursday, reports Reuters.
It did not say when the new measures will take effect. Public Masses will resume in churches in Italy on Monday under strict conditions outlined in a protocol signed last week by Italy's bishops conference and the government.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said thermal temperature scanning will be used at least during services on Sundays and religious feast days.
Five New York regions ready to start reopening on Friday: Governor
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Thursday that a central area of his state was now ready to open, bringing to five the number of regions that can take the first steps to reopen some businesses when a statewide stay-at-home order lapses on Friday, reports Reuters.
Cuomo also told a daily briefing that he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump, who expedited a $3.9 billion payment of federal funds to New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the largest mass-transit system in the country.
