Officials were scared that crowds thronging the streets of Rome, Milan will threaten recovery. Germany saw a new spate of infections in slaughterhouses as 190 cases were reported in Coesfeld. Seoul was forced to close 2,100 bars and nightclubs after 1,940 people tested positive. India, expected to gradually start reopening from May 16, has seen 62,939 cases and 2,109 deaths due to Covid-19.

Hundreds of migrant workers, mostly from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh took to the streets in Bhilwara District of Rajasthan to demand arrangements be made for their return to native places. The migrant labourers protested for over an hour at Pansal crossing.
Coronavirus cases in Russia cross 200,000- mark
The Russian authorities said on Sunday they had recorded 11,012 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 209,688.
Russia's coronavirus taskforce said 88 people had died in the past day, pushing the national death toll to 1,915, reports Reuters.

Majority of Covid cases in Delhi are mild or asymptomatic, says CM
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that majority of coronavirus cases in the national capital are either mild or asymptomatic, reports ANI.

Malaysia's government extended the time frame for movement and business curbs by another four weeks to June 9, amid a gradual reopening of economic activity stunted by the coronavirus pandemic, reports Reuters.

786 personnel from the Maharashtra Police have tested positive for Covid-19 so far, according to the department on Sunday. According to a release by the Maharashtra Police, the total Covid-19 cases include 88 officers and 698 other personnel, reports ANI.

Thailand reported five new coronavirus cases but no deaths on Sunday, bringing the total to 3,009 cases and 56 deaths since the outbreak started in the country in January, reports Reuters.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has recorded 2,109 deaths and 62,939 cases due to the novel coronavirus. 128 deaths and 3,277 cases of the virus have been reported in the last 24 hours.
