On Monday, Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia announced that he, too, has tested positive for the virus.
The global Covid-19 tally, meanwhile, spiked to over 29 million, of which there are more than 9.3 lakh fatalities and 2.1 million recoveries, as per worldometers. United States continues to be the worst-hit country, followed by India and Brazil. Russia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa, Spain and Argentina complete the list of ten worst-hit countries in the world.

Chattisgarh's Covid-19 tally crosses 70,000
Chhattisgarh on Tuesday recorded a highest single-day spike of 3,450 Covid-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 70,777, a health official said. The death toll rose to 588 with 15 more people succumbing to the infection in the state over the last five days, he added, reports PTI.
7,576 new Covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka
A total of 7,576 new Covid-19 cases and 97 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Tuesday, said state's health department. The state has reported 7,481 deaths in total due to the disease so far, reports ANI.
2,409 fresh cases take Assam's Covid-19 tally to 146,575
The Covid-19 caseload in Assam went up to 1,46,575 after 2,409 people tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. Ten more patients also died due to the disease, taking the total number of fatalities to 492, reports PTI.
Covid-19 death toll in Rajasthan rises to 1,264 with 14 more fatalities
Fourteen more Covid-19 fatalities in Rajasthan took the death toll in the state to 1,264 on Tuesday, according to a health department bulletin. The state also reported 1,760 new cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 1,05,898, reports PTI.
3,889 new Covid-19 cases, 70 more deaths recorded in Pune
Pune district reported 3,889 new coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking its infection count to 2,31,196, while the toll reached 5,292 with 70 deaths during this period, an official said on Tuesday, reports PTI.
