967 fresh cases push Jharkhand’s Covid-19 tally to over 30,000
India reported 61,408 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and 836 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 3,106,349, including 2,338,036 recovered patients, according to the Union health ministry's dashboard on Monday. The health ministry said the gap between recoveries and active cases continued to widen, with the number of patients recovering currently more than three times the active cases.

Amid the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in South Korea, authorities said that they are considering raising social-distancing restrictions to the highest level as risk of a “massive nationwide outbreak” looms.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, Covid-19 tally in Brazil pushed to over 3.6 million after recording more than 23,000 cases in a day. However, President Jair Bolsonaro defended the reopening of retail outlets, saying that his government had done everything possible to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Spain's Covid-19 tally tops 400,000 after surge in cases
Spain's Covid-19 tally on Monday mounted to 405,436 after a surge was seen in infections last week. The health ministry added nearly 20,000 infections for last week after revising upwards the number of cases for at least four of the days in that week, reports Reuters.
Assam's Covid-19 tally nearing 93,000; death toll at 252
As many as 1,879 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Assam, taking the total number of cases in the state to 92,619. The total cases include 21,464 active cases, nearly 71,000 recoveries and 252 deaths. The state's positivity rate is at 6.55%, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, reports ANI.

Coronavirus most prevalent among those aged between 5 and 17
Minors aged between 5 and 17 are most exposed to the novel coronavirus in Delhi, according to a serological survey conducted in the city this month.
Conducted between August 1 and August 7, the survey, second in the city, showed that 29.1 percent of the population in the national capital has now developed antibodies against SARS CoV-2, reports PTI.

1,516 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Punjab, taking the total number of cases in the state to 43,284. The total cases include 13,798 active cases, 28,357 recoveries and 1,129 deaths, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

WHO says plasma therapy still 'experimental'
The World Health Organization says using plasma from the recovered to treat Covid-19 is still considered an “experimental” therapy and that the preliminary results showing it may work are still inconclusive, reports AP.

967 fresh cases push Jharkhand’s Covid-19 tally to over 30,000
As many as 967 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Jharkhand, taking the total number of cases in the state to 30,178 with nine new fatalities pushing the death toll to 320, as per a health bulletin. Active cases in the state to 9,722 while more than 20,000 have recovered from the infection so far, it added, reports PTI.
