In record high, Hong Kong detected more than 100 cases of Covid-19 while authorities mulled an extension in the mandatory wearing of masks.
Meanwhile, in China, Xinjiang province saw a spike in the Covid-19 cases while authorities in Beijing lowered its response level after two weeks of no new domestic infection.

249 new Covid-19 cases in Germany
Germany has confirmed 249 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours. The tally has now reached to 201,823, the Robert Koch Institute said on Monday.
The death toll has grown by two to 9,086 people within the same period of time
Outbreak in northwest China spreads to second city
China’s latest coronavirus outbreak has spread to a second city in the northwestern region of Xinjiang, Associated Press reported on Monday.
One of the 17 new cases reported on Monday was in the ancient Silk Road city of Kashgar, the regional government said on its official microblog. The remainder were in the regional capital of Urumqi, where all other cases have been reported since the outbreak that has now infected at least 47 people emerged earlier this month.

After recovering from Covid-19, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain will resume work from today.
"Welcome back", wrote chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter announcing his rejoining to work.

As many as 1,40,47,908 samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far. Of these 2,56,039 were tested on Sunday, Indian Council of Medical Research said.

Coronavirus outbreak will take weeks to tame: Australia
As Australia is bracing for the second wave of Covid-29 infections, country's acting chief medical officer said it would take "weeks" to slow the outbreak to levels seen as recently as June.
"We have learned over time that the time between introducing a measure and seeing its effect is at least two weeks and sometimes longer than that," Kelly was reported as saying by local media.
