HAL establishes 160-bed Covid-19 care centre in Bengaluru
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has prepared a 160-bed Covid-19 care centre at one of its facilities on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru. HAL through a statement said that it had converted its Ghatage Convention Centre into a Covid-19 care centre with the complete supporting infrastructure like washrooms, bathrooms, reports ANI.
2,250 new Covid-19 cases registered in UP in last 24 hours
Amit Mohan Prasad, the Principal Health Secretary of Uttar Pradesh said that 2,250 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the active cases stand at 18,256. He also mentioned that total of 19,845 people have recovered from the disease and the death toll stands at 1,146, reports ANI.

Scientists confirmed that the novel coronavirus cannot be transmitted to people by mosquitoes, a finding that adds evidence to WHO's claim that the disease is not mosquito-borne. The research, published in the journal Scientific Reports, provided the first experimental evidence on the capacity of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, to infect and be transmitted by mosquitoes, reports PTI.

Odisha government said that plasma therapy has brought great relief to the serious coronavirus patients in the state. It mentioned that out of the 6 critically ill patients administered under plasma therapy, 4 were responding well and were no longer in need of oxygen support and will be discharged soon, reports ANI.

Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan after launching the plasma donation campaign in association with Delhi Police at AIIMS said that a total of 2,532 personnel of the police force got infected with coronavirus while dozen died due to it. He mentioned that those who recovered donated their plasma. He thanked these corona warriors who have now become plasma warriors, reports ANI.

Russia registers 771,546 cases; 12,342 deaths
6,109 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Russia, taking the total number of cases to 771,546, the country's coronavirus crisis response centre said. The death toll stands at 12,342 whereas 550,344 people have recovered from the infection so far, reports Reuters.
