Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday gave details of the first part of the ₹20 lakh crore economic stimulus package that was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to salvage the economy from the coronavirus pandemic induced crisis. Wednesday's announcements were about the MSME sector and highlights included changing the definition of MSMEs, ₹3 lakh crore collateral free automatic loan for businesses, including MSMEs, reducing TDS/ TCS rates on non-salary income by 25% and extending due date for filing all income tax returns to November 30, 2020.

Over 1100 Manipuris return to state by special train
Over 1100 stranded Manipuris returned to the state on Wednesday by a special train from Chennai, said Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh.
"1141 stranded Manipuris reached Jiribam RS from Chennai by a special train at around 12:20 pm today & have started moving by bus to their respective districts for compulsory 14 days quarantine at designated institutional & community quarantine centres, the CM said in a tweet.

Indian High Commission in London releases flights schedule for Phase 2
The Indian High Commission in London released the schedule of flights for phase 2 of flights from UK to bring back Indians under the Vande Bharat Mission. High Commission will gradually start contacting Indian passport holders according to priority. Bookings will start closer to the date of departure.
UP scraps multiple allowances of employees
Uttar Pradesh has decided to scrap multiple allowances given to its employees to deal with the additional financial burden following the coronavirus pandemic, reports PTI.
The state's finance department, through separate orders, scrapped the city compensatory allowance (CCA), secretariat allowance, special allowance given to different wings of the police, the special allowance paid to junior engineers in all the departments, the research, orderly and design allowance paid in the Public Works Department (PWD), along with the investigation and planning and orderly allowance paid to the officers and employees of the irrigation department and the encouragement allowance to employees for keeping Provident Fund records.
The government aims to save at least ₹1,500 crore a year through the move.
Rajasthan reports 152 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths
Rajasthan reported 152 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths on Wednesday, as of 2 pm, according to the state health department, reports ANI.
The total number of cases in the state is now at 4,278, including 1,699 active cases, and 120 deaths.

South Korea not to reinforce strict social distancing
Despite 119 cases being found from Seoul's nightclubs, deputy health minister Kim Gang-lip said there are no chances of bringing back social distancing rules unless daily cases cross 50. Out of the 119 new cases, most patients are below 19 years of age.

Pakistan records 34,336 Covid-19 cases
