Covid-19 infections are set to cross 3 million mark with 2,00,000 people dead globally. With over 800,000 people recovered, global recovery rates have gone up to 29%. India's death toll due to Covid-19 has reached 26,917 with 826 people dead nationwide. Canada, US, Germany and Spain along with India seek to loosen lockdown restrictions as economies seek to heal from the devastating blow of the pandemic.
While addressing the nation in his monthly Mann Ki Baat programme, PM Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India has adopted a people-driven approach to face the threat posed by Covid-19 pandemic.

China reports zero deaths, 11 new Covid-19 cases
China has reported fresh 11 cases on Saturday. This is the 11th day in a row with no deaths for the nation which fell prey to the coronavirus disease.
NBA facilities to reopen
An AP report says NBA will allow players to return to team training facilities in case there are no stay at home orders on their respective states. For those teams in cities where stay-at-home orders still make such a return impossible, the NBA said it would work to find “alternative arrangements,” the person with knowledge of the matter said.

More than 53,511 people have died due to Covid-19 in the US. AFP quoted a Johns Hopkins tally where it also showed US leads in the number of infections with 936,293 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
