Highlights: 9,318 infected by Covid-19 in Maharashtra, 729 new cases reported

The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to consider the feasibility of 'temporarily' adopting the 'one nation, one ration card' scheme during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown period to enable the migrant workers and economically weaker sections (EWS) get subsidies.

"Around 200 medical staff members of both government and private hospitals have been infected with Covid-19. Advisory has been issued. India has recorded 1,543 Covid-19 fresh cases and the death toll climbed by 62, according to latest figures released by the health ministry on Tuesday morning.

The total number of cases in India is 29,435 while the death toll stands at 934.
