Coronavirus cases in India are nearing the 30,000-mark as the count of total cases climbed to 29,974, while the death toll stood at 937, according to latest figures released by the Union ministry of health on Tuesday evening.
Covid-19 has halted economic activities globally as more than 3 million remain infected and rest of the world remains indoors. States in India have allowed resumption of some activities to stop the country's economy from suffering from more losses due to the pandemic.

Consider adopting 'one nation, one ration card', SC tells Centre
The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to consider the feasibility of 'temporarily' adopting the 'one nation, one ration card' scheme during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown period to enable the migrant workers and economically weaker sections (EWS) get subsidies.
Might start thinking about opening school: Trump tells states
“Some of you might start thinking about school openings, because a lot of people are wanting to have the school openings. It's not a big subject, young children have done very well in this disaster that we've all gone through," US president Donald Trump told states.
.While addressing Vice President Mike Pence, Trump added that it's something "they can seriously consider, and maybe get going on.” None of the governors on the call responded to the suggestion, according to a recording obtained by The Associated Press.

The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to make suggestions in the guidelines for rational use of personal protective equipment so that provision of kits can be made for all medics who are working in non-Covid treatment areas.
Around 200 healthcare personnel infected in Delhi: Minister
The total number of coronavirus cases in Delhi has climbed to 3,108, and of them around 200 are healthcare personnel, Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
"Around 200 medical staff members of both government and private hospitals have been infected with Covid-19. Advisory has been issued. We have found that the staff at the Covid-19-dedicated hospitals are not testing positive. The health workers from non-Covid hospitals are testing positive," Jain said.

IIT Bhubabneswar develops multi-surface sanitiser for disinfecting devices
IIT Bhubaneswar has designed a safe and multi-surface sanatiser using UVC light for the disinfection of devices.
"You can place an infected object into the chamber and once it gets exposed to ultraviolet light, the device would be disinfected within 15 minutes," said Prof RV Raja Kumar, Director, IIT, Bhubaneswar told news agency ANI.

Of the seven cases, four were reported from the western district of Sundergarh and three in the coastal district of Bhadrak, they said.
Rajasthan reports 66 new Covid-19 cases
Rajasthan has reported 66 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to 2,328 and the death toll has climbed to 51, the state health department said.
The new cases were reported from Jodhpur (13), from Ajmer (11), Jaipur (17) and Kota (19).
