Texas, Missouri record large number of Covid-19 deaths and case
South Africa, states in the US and India have reimposed lockdowns in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19. Karnataka and Bihar have imposed lockdowns as cases increase in these states. In the US, California recalled its previous order of opening restaurants, malls and cinema halls as cases continue to rise. Texas and Missouri also reported new daily records of deaths in the last 24 hours.

268 police personnel infected with Covid-19 in West Bengal
Till now, 268 police personnel, 30 doctors, 43 nurses and 62 government officials in West Bengal have been infected with Covid-19, chief minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday.
UP: Over 45,000 samples were tested for Covid-19
More than 45,000 samples were tested for Covid-19 by the Uttar Pradesh Government on Tuesday, the highest single-day tests conducted by any state, said Alok Kumar, Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"Yesterday we tested more than 45,000 samples for COVID-19. This is the highest test conducted by any state in a single day. Our positivity still lies below 4 per cent," informed Kumar in a tweet.

Authorities ease quarantine rules for travelers arriving in Russia
As Russia continues to ease Covid-19 restrictions, authorities on Wednesday lifted mandatory two-week self-quarantine for those arriving in the country.
Starting Wednesday, both Russian and international travellers will have to either provide coronavirus test results at the border or take a test within three days of arrival in Russia.
Self-quaratine will remain mandatory for those who test positive for the virus or whose health deteriorates upon arrival.
1,320 new cases of Covid-19 in Bihar
As many as 1,320 people were infected with Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the taking tally of total positive cases to 20,173. The number of recovered cases in the state till now stands at 13,019: Government of Bihar

Pyeongtaek wants US soldiers to take pre-arrival Covid-19 tests
Pyeongtaek which is home to the largest US overseas military base wants American soldiers to get tested before they arrive. South Korea reported 39 fresh Covid-19 cases today.

Germany's Covid-19 tally inches towards 200,000
Germany recorded 351 cases of Covid-19 which brought their number of total cases to 199,726. With three deaths, death toll reached 9,071.
