With 86,960 fresh cases of Covid-19 infection, India's Covid-19 tally reached 5,487,580 on Monday, including 1,010,824 active cases and 4,303,043 cured patients. The death toll was at 87,882, after 1,130 others succumbed to the disease.

While the deadly virus still wreaks havoc in the country, the Taj Mahal in Agra reopened for tourists amid tight Covid-19 measures.

Some states have also allowed the partial reopening of schools to reopen partially from Monday after a gap of more than five months.
