Former Italy PM Silvio Berlusconi tests positive for Covid-19

Former Italy prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has tested positive for Covid-19, news agency AFP reported.

Chhattisgarh reported 12 deaths and 1,916 fresh cases of Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. The total number of positive cases in the state is now 35,330 including 16,811 active cases, 18,220 discharged patients and 299 deaths, said state government.

12 deaths and 1,511 fresh infections reported in Rajasthan today. The total number of positive cases in the state is now 84,674 including 70,674 recovered, 12,919 active cases and 1,081 deaths, said state health department.

West Bengal reported 2,976 fresh Covid-19 cases reported today. The total number of positive cases in the state is now 1,68,697 including 24,445 active cases, 1,40,913 discharged patients and 3,339 deaths, said state health department.

Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 17,433 new Covid-19 cases, 13,959 recoveries and 292 deaths, taking active cases to 2,01,703, recoveries to 5,98,496 & death toll to 25,195, said state health department.

Gujarat on Wednesday reported 1,305 Covid-19 positive cases and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the state's total tally raises to 99,050 including 15,948 active cases, 80,045 cured/discharged patients and 3,048 deaths, said state health department.

Punjab reported 1,514 fresh positive cases in the last 24-hours The total number of positive cases in the state is now 56,989 including 15,629 active cases, 39,742 discharged patients and 1,618 deaths, said government on Wednesday.

Coronavirus death toll mounts to 3,616 in UP with 74 fresh fatalities, 5,716 fresh cases raise state's infection count to 2,41,439; number of active cases 56,459, as per the daily health bulletin figures.

Odisha on Tuesday reported 3,219 coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,09,780 in the state, the health department said.

The total number of cases now stands at 1,09,780 including 80,770 recoveries, 28,443 active cases and 514 deaths.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will isolate himself for the next three days as some of his staff members, including his officer on special duty, have tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the information received from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's Office, Rawat will not attend departmental meetings and public events as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the virus.

Uttar Pradesh reported as many as 5,716 fresh Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, said principal health secretary Amit Mohan Prasad.

Tripura on Wednesday reported its highest single-day spike of 566 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 12,722. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 4,667, said an Official.
