India on Monday recorded 45,231 new cases of the coronavirus disease, which further showed a dip in the daily numbers of the infection. The nationwide tally reached 8,229,313. Four hundred seventy-nine people died due to the disease in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stood at 561,908 and India’s death toll is at 122,607, the health ministry’s data showed.
With 53,285 recoveries in the last 24 hours, 7,544,798 Covid-19 patients have been cured of the viral disease so far. Globally there are 46,804,614 Covid-19 cases and death toll stands at 1,205,044.

331 fresh cases push Uttarakhand's Covid-19 tally to 62,881
Uttarakhand recorded 331 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the tally to 62,881, while two more patients died due to the disease, a state health department bulletin here said, reports PTI.
71 new Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya, tally mounts to 9,678
At least 71 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Meghalaya on Monday, increasing the tally in the state to 9,678, a senior official said.
The northeastern state currently has 1,009 active coronavirus cases, while 90 persons have succumbed to the infection, health services director Aman War said, reports PTI.
Mumbai's Dharavi reports 11 new coronavirus cases
The Covid-19 tally in Mumbai's slum colony of Dharavi increased to 3,617 with the addition of 11 new cases on Monday, according to a senior BMC official.
The official said 3,152 19 patients in the densely populated locality have recovered from the infection and discharged from hospitals, reports PTI.
