India has entered into day 10 of the fourth phase of lockdown which will end on May 31. So far the country has registered 151,767 cases and 4,337 deaths due to the novel Coronavirus.
In recent development, the Indian Council of Medical Research said it will review whether to continue the use of hydroxycholroquine to treat infected patients. Earlier, India had exported this drug to United States.
Delhi Police on Tuesday filed 20 charge sheets against 82 foreign nationals who were a part of the Tablighi Jamaat, a religious congregation which emerged as the biggest Covid hotspot in the country. The foreigners against whom the charge sheets have been filed are from 20 countries such as United States, China, Brazil. Today, Delhi Police will file 15 more charge sheets against 294 foreigners that were a part of the congreagtion.
On the global side, the number of confirmed cases surpassed 5.4 million as per the World Health Organization, while global death toll has crossed the 3,50,000 mark. United States continues to remain the worst affected nation followed by Brazil and Russia.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 151,676 cases and 4,337 deaths due to the novel coronavirus. 6,387 cases and 170 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
Meghalaya reports 5 new Covid-19 cases, state tally at 20
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said five more people tested positive for coronavirus in Meghalaya, taking the total number of active cases in the state to seven. The total cases in the state now stand at 20, reports PTI.
Tripura reports 23 new Covid-19 cases
Tripura on Tuesday reported 23 new coronavirus cases. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that 18 out of 23 people have come from Maharashtra by train and five others were in contact with positive patients, reports ANI.
High school students in Hong Kong begin attending lectures
Hong Kong public high school students began attending classes part of a phased reopening after the country successfully tackled its coronavirus crisis. Hundreds of secondary schools opened their doors on today for senior students, the first classes in the state sector since late January, reports AFP.

Covid-19 deaths in United States near 100,000-mark
United States recorded less than 700 new Covid-19 deaths for the third day in a row, as per Johns Hopkins University. A total of 657 people have died in the past 24 hours. The overall death toll in the country is now 98,875, reports AFP.
Brazil Covid-19 death toll crosses 24,000-mark
Deaths due to coronavirus in Brazil reached 24,512 after 1,039 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The number of cases rose to 391,222 with 16,324 new cases, reports Reuters.
Mexico registers 501 deaths from virus in last 24 hours
Mexico registered 501 new deaths from the coronavirus on Tuesday, its biggest single-day increase in fatalities yet, as the jump in new cases also set a record.
The country's totals now stand at 74,560 cases of coronavirus and 8,134 deaths, the health authorities said, reports Reuters.
