India’s Covid-19 tally crossed 1.1 lakh on Thursday with 5,609 new cases getting detected in the last 24 hours. This is the second-biggest single-day spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country. According to the Union health ministry update, the total number of cases in the country are 1,12,359. Out of these, the number of active cases are 63,624, those recovered are 45,299. Countries across the globe are easing restrictions which were imposed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Aarogya Setu app not mandatory for 14-year-olds
The Airport Authority of India says that Aarogya Setu app is not mandatory for children as it issued new SOPs for recommencement of flights (domestic).

State may not have infra to quarantine 2-3 lakh people: Uniyal
Uttarakhand minister S Uniyal told ANI that state does not have infrastructure to quarantine 2-3 lakh people as cases emerge in Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Almora and Bageshwar districts.

India had reported 5,611 cases on May 20. On May 21, India reports 5,609 fresh Covid-19 cases with 132 deaths. With 45,300 recoveries the recovery rate is 40.31%.
Curbs to be eased in Osaka, Tokyo remains under emergency
Economy minister Yasutoshi Nishimura who is heading the Covid-19 response team said that restrictions in Osaka will be lifted by today but Japan's capital will remain under emergency.

WHO reported that 106,662 virus cases were reported across the globe. This was the steepest single-day rise in the number of global cases.
Migrant workers bear double whammy of lockdown and Covid-19
Ghaziabad's Pooja, who is stranded at the Delhi-Ghazipur border, seven months pregnant and mother of a 18-month-old child, wants to go home. She tells ANI that the police are not allowing her and other migrant workers to go home.

US has recorded 1,561 deaths in the last 24 hours according to a tally accessed by AFP from Johns Hopkins University.
