India on Saturday reported 2,411 new cases and 71 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the total number of active cases to 26,535. So far 1,223 people in India have died due to the virus.
As a measure to control the spread of coronavirus outbreak in India, the Centre on Friday extended the nationwide lockdown by two more weeks. India has been under lockdown since March 24 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The government has profiled the districts into red, green and orange zones to bring in some ease during restrictions. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued fresh guidelines as well in this regard to all the states and union territories permitting considerable relaxations in the districts falling in green zones.

Covid-19 cases in India have gone up to 37,336, and the death toll stands at 1,218 on Saturday morning. Over 2000 cases and 71 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry.
