Covid-19 highlights: Soldier from Ladakh tests positive for coronavirus

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has said that an economic devastation will follow the coronavirus outbreak of India. Highlighting that the devastation will be economic in nature, he compared the situation akin to a 'tsunami'.

India saw a rise in the number of cases on Tuesday. 12 cases were reported. 126 people affected nationwide. Maharashtra - 7 new cases, Karnataka - 2 new cases; Kerala - 1 new case, Telangana - 1 new case, and Haryana recorded its first covid-19 case.

Haryana has recorded its first case of coronavirus. A woman from Gurugram tested positive for coronavirus, according to reports from PTI.

V Muraleedharan was present in a conference where a doctor who had flown in from Spain and later tested positive for coronavirus was also present.

A sixty-year-old patient from Maharashtra died after getting infected by covid-19 raising the nationwide death toll from the coronavirus to 3.

A person who flew in from France living in Sector 100 and another person living in Hyde Park have tested positive for coronavirus. The resident from Hyde Park has been hospitalised.

Passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines and Malaysia are barred from entering India till March 31st, 2020. The order will come into effect from March 16th, 2020.

Noida has reported 2 more cases of coronavirus.

The 63-year-old doctor treated the septuagenarian who succumbed to covid-19 in Karnataka. Kalaburagi DC, Sharat B. told the media that the doctor is under quarantine.
