Brazil registers nearly 50,000 Covid-19 deaths
After over seven months since the first case of coronavirus was reported in China, the outbreak continues to spread. Countries have tried their best to curb the disease by imposing lockdowns, ensuring social distancing and providing requisite treatment to the infected but the virus still lingers.
India, the fourth most-affected nation in the world, recorded 410,461 cases and 13,254 deaths as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Delhi, which has now emerged as the country’s Covid-19 hot spot after Mumbai, was subjected to a controversial order wherein all delhiites who tested positive had to go through a mandatory five-day institutional quarantine. However, this order was rolled back immediately considering the lack of health infrastructure available to accommodate patients.
United States continues to be the worst-affected nation from the outbreak. The total cases have crossed 2.3 million in the country, followed by Brazil and Russia.
More than 190,000 samples tested for Covid-19 in last 24 hrs, says GoI
The Government of India (GoI) said that 1,90,730 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and a total of 68,07,226 samples have been tested so far, reports ANI.
Assam registers nine Covid-19 deaths, 5,388 cases
133 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Assam, taking the total number of cases in the state to 5,388. Nine people have died and more than 3,000 have recovered from the infection so far, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

Covid-19 cases in Latin America cross 2 million
Coronavirus infections in Latin America crossed two million on Saturday, with worst-hit Brazil home to nearly half of the cases as the virus accelerates its spread in the region, reports AFP.

823 cases and 24 deaths were reported in Pune in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the city have now gone up to 15,004 and the death toll stands at 584, the state's health department said, reports ANI.

With 154 new cases, Rajasthan’s Covid-19 tally mounts to 14,691
154 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Rajasthan, taking the total number of infections in the state to 14,691. The death toll stands at 341 and more than 11,000 people have been discharged so far, reports ANI.

Donald Trump urges slowdown in Covid-19 testing
United States President Donald Trump told thousands of supporters that he had asked officials to slow down testing for Covid-19 by calling it a 'double edged sword' that led to more cases being discovered. Trump said that more than 25 million people have been tested for the infection, far more than other countries, reports Reuters.
China, South Korea register new Covid-19 cases
China and South Korea reported new Covid-19 cases in outbreaks that threatened to set back their recovery. Chinese authorities reported 25 new cases, 22 in Beijing and three in neighboring Hebei province. While authorities in South Korea reported 48 new confirmed cases out of which 50% were from the capital city of Seoul, reports AP.
Home Minister calls review meet for situation in Delhi
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for a review meet regarding the Covid-19 situation in New Delhi at 5 pm. So far, the national capital has recorded 56,746 cases and 2,112 deaths due to the infection.
Tamil Nadu enters Day 3 of complete lockdown
The streets of Tamil Nadu saw decreased vehicular movement as the state entered into day three of lockdown imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19. The complete lockdown in Tamil Nadu will continue till June 30, reports ANI.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded yet another single biggest day spike of 15,413 Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of infections in the country to over four lakh. The total deaths stand at 13,254.
Germany's Covid-19 tally nearing 190,000
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Germany increased by 687 to 189,822, data from the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases showed on Sunday. The Institute also reported a death toll of 8,882, reports Reuters.
Australian state extends state of emergency as Covid-19 cases surge
Australia's second most populous state, Victoria, on Sunday extended its state of emergency for four more weeks to July 19, as it battles a spike in coronavirus infections with a pick-up in community transmission. The move came a day after the state announced it would reimpose restrictions capping visitors to households to five people and outdoor gatherings to 10, starting Monday, reports Reuters.
