After over seven months since the first case of coronavirus was reported in China, the outbreak continues to spread. Countries have tried their best to curb the disease by imposing lockdowns, ensuring social distancing and providing requisite treatment to the infected but the virus still lingers.
India, the fourth most-affected nation in the world, recorded 410,461 cases and 13,254 deaths as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Delhi, which has now emerged as the country’s Covid-19 hot spot after Mumbai, was subjected to a controversial order wherein all delhiites who tested positive had to go through a mandatory five-day institutional quarantine. However, this order was rolled back immediately considering the lack of health infrastructure available to accommodate patients.
United States continues to be the worst-affected nation from the outbreak. The total cases have crossed 2.3 million in the country, followed by Brazil and Russia.
Kerala reports 133 new Covid-19 positive cases

BMC's proactive measures have reduced Covid-19 growth in Dharavi: Union health ministry
Being densely populated, Mumbai's Dharavi had 491 cases in April with 12% growth rate&case doubling period of 18 days. Proactive measures adopted by BMC reduced Covid-19 growth rate to 4.3% in May 2020 & further to 1.02% in June: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

Lucknow's famous 'Tunday Kababi' restaurant reopened on Sunday after three months. Mohammed Usman, owner of the restaurant told ANI, "Since buffalo meat is not available, we are currently selling only mutton & chicken kebabs. We are witnessing comparatively low footfall."

China suspends imports of poultry from US based meat processor
China's customs authority said that it suspended the import of poultry products from a plant owned by US-based meat processor Tyson Inc that has been hit by Covid-19. The plant is located in Springdale, Arizona, according to a customs file of registered exporters, reports Reuters.

Spain reopens borders as state of emergency comes to an end
Passengers wearing masks and wheeling suitcases arrived at Madrid's main airport as Spain opened its borders to most European nations and ended a state of emergency which was imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19. Borders are now open to all European Union nations except Portugal, as well as Schengen Area members outside the bloc and Britain, reports Reuters.

Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh nearing 9,000; death toll at 106
477 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 8,929. Out of new cases found, 439 are from Andhra Pradesh, 34 are returnees from other states and 4 are from different countries. The state's death toll stands at 106 with five deaths reported in last 24 hours, reports ANI.

After the controversial order to make 5 day institutional quarantine mandatory for everyone in Delhi was revoked, the state government issued an order stating that individuals who are positive will be referred to Covid-19 care centres for assessment of clinical conditions, severity of illness and co-morbities and a physical assessment will be done for adequate facilities for home isolation so that cluster of cases doesn't develop in locality, reports ANI.

Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh nearing 700, death toll at six
Himachal Pradesh has recorded 658 cases and six deaths due to the novel Coronavirus. The number of active cases stand at 233 whereas 406 people have recovered from the infection so far, reports ANI.

Odisha registers highest single-day spike of 304 Covid-19 cases
Odisha registered the highest single-day spike of Covid cases with 304 more people testing positive for the disease, taking the total in the state to 5,160, a health department official said on Sunday. Two more people succumbed to the virus - a septuagenarian in Bargarh and a 49-year-old man in Puri -- raising the death toll to 14, reports PTI.
