12,881 fresh cases take India's tally to 366,946, toll at 12,237
Coronavirus cases in India crossed the 3.6 lakh-mark and the death toll reached 12,237, according to the health ministry website on Thursday. There are 160,384 active cases in the country, while 194,324 people have been cured of the disease or discharged, according to the government portal. Click here for full Covid-19 coverage
Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu are three states with the highest number of fresh coronavirus cases recorded everyday. To arrest this spike, rapid testing of suspected patients will take place vigorously, the government said on Wednesday. Antigen-based rapid tests recommended by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will be expanded across the country, ICMR officials said.

Fitch cuts India’s outlook to ‘negative’
Due to the impact of Covid-19 outbreak on Indian economy, ratings agency Fitch cut its outlook for India to “negative” from “stable.
Nagaland's Covid-19 cases stand at 193
"Out of 317 samples tested in Nagaland, no Covid-19-positive case has been reported. The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 193, of which 90 are active, and 103 have recovered," said S Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland.
