Live: Delhi records highest single-day spike with 2,137 new Covid-19 cases

Delhi on Friday reported 2,137 new Covid-19 cases, taking the city's tally to 36,824. With 71 new deaths reported due to coronavirus, the Covid-19 death toll in Delhi is at 1,214.

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Friday said FIRs had been lodged after it lodged police complaints against 40 coronavirus patients for breaching home quarantine norms and moving out.

In a statement issued here, the GCC said first information reports (FIR) were registered against these patients for putting other people's lives at risk.

"The mosque will stay closed till July 4, as Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Delhi. Despite regular appeals by the mosque that senior citizens and kids should not come to the mosque, they are coming.
