As lockdown 4.0 ended on Sunday, State governments across the country rallied to open the economy under the 'Unlock 1'. In the latest released guidelines, state government relaxed restrictions and allowed various activities including inter-state travel and opening of restaurants and malls.
India became the world's seventh worst-hit country by the deadly coronavirus as it recorded its highest-ever jump in infections. Currently, India has 190,535 cases of coronavirus infections, out of which 5,394 people lost their lives, as per the health ministry data published on its site at 08:00 am.
Meanwhile, in Maharashtra which is among the worst-affected-state, the government allowed the resumption of film shooting with some restrictions in place.
Among the worst-hit countries, Brazil recorded 16,409 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the final tally to 514,849, country's Health Ministry said on Sunday. Brazil's Covid-19 death toll increased by 408 in the past 24 hours and now stands at 29,314.

Ganga Ghats deserted on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra
Amid the Covid-19 lockdown, ghats of Varanasi remained deserted on the occasion of Ganga Dusshera, a festival which is usually celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in the city.
Section 144 of CrPc is imposed in the area and religious activities including bathing in the river are prohibited.

Maharashtra records 67,655 coronavirus infections
In Delhi, there are total 19, 844 coronavirus infections, while in Maharashtra the total number has risen to 67,655. In Gujarat, the number of total infections stands at 16,779.

Japan considering re-opening door to some foreigners
Japan is considering re-opening its borders to travellers from selected countries which have low levels of coronavirus infections, as it begins to ease restrictions put in place earlier this year to control the outbreak, reports Reuters.
Indian Railways begin operations
After keeping it shut for over two months due to the coronavirus lockdown, Indian Railways started its operations of 200 passengers train services from today, news agency ANI reported.

Despite rising infections, Moscow eases lockdown
Shopping malls and parks to reopen in Moscow, an epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak in Russia, after authorities relaxed the lockdown norms. The relaxation comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Covid-19 outbreak has passed its peak in the country.
