101-year-old woman recovers from Covid-19 in Tirupati
The number of people infected with the coronavirus disease has crossed 1.38 million in India. Of the total 1,385,522 confirmed cases, 467,882 are active while 885,576 people have recovered from Covid-19 and have been discharged from the hospital. The disease has claimed 32063 lives in the country, according to the ministry of health and family welfare’s dashboard on Sunday.

While Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu were responsible for nearly two of every three new infections reported till early July, the current spurt in Covid-19 cases are being reported from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 tally is nearing the 16 million-mark. Of the 15,983,502 across the globe, 4,176,416 were reported from the United States and 2,394,513 from Brazil, the second most affected nation. The virus has so far killed 643,371 people, according to Johns Hopkins University’s tally.

Uttar Pradesh registers 3,260 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours
3,260 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh, taking the total number of cases in the state to 23,921. The death toll stands at 1,426 whereas nearly 42,000 people have been discharged so far, reports ANI.

Covid-19 cases in Bihar nearing 39,000-mark
2,605 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Bihar, taking the total number of cases in the state to 38,919, the state's health department said, reports ANI.
Thiruvananthapuram civic body tests destitute people for Covid-19
With a view to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation started tested destitute people roaming around the city streets. They are identified and brought to the quarantine centre in vehicles and tests are undertaken, reports ANI.
Sri Lanka to conduct advance polling for people under quarantine
Sri Lanka's has set July 31 as the date for advance voting for persons under quarantine, National Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said on Sunday ahead of the August 5 vote. Over 16 million voters are registered to vote on August 5 to elect a 225-member parliament for a 5-year term, reports PTI.
31 new cases push Andaman's coronavirus tally to 290
A senior health official said that 31 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, taking the total number of cases in the union territory to 290. One of the new patients had recently returned to the Union Territory while 30 fresh cases were detected during local contact tracing, Health Department Deputy Director Dr Avijit Roy said, reports PTI.
Puducherry registers 2,787 Covid-19 cases, 40 deaths
Puducherry's Covid-19 tally reached 2,787 after 131 more people tested positive for the infection. Out of the total cases, 1,102 are active cases. Two more deaths have taken the union territory's death toll to 40, reports PTI.

481 new cases push Singapore’s Covid-19 tally to over 50,000
481 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Singapore, taking the total number of cases in the country to 50,369, the health ministry said. The ministry also said that out of the new cases, 476 are migrant workers living in dormitories, while five community cases reported are also foreigners holding work passes, reports PTI.

101-year-old woman recovers from Covid-19 in Tirupati
A 101-year-old woman recovered from the coronavirus disease and was discharged from State Covid-19 hospital Sri Padmavati women's hospital in Tirupati.
Mangamma's family members have expressed gratitude towards SVIMS director Dr B Vengamma and the medical and other staff at the hospital.
