Coronavirus cases continue to set new and grim records across the world as there is no sign of the curve flattening globally. The large number of cases are being reported from North and Latin America which are currently hotspots of Covid-19. India along with US continue to report high number of cases.

India, US, Brazil and Mexico contributed mostly to the million cases that have been recorded in the last four days. Weekend lockdowns have been imposed in several cities of India. Some states have reimposed lockdowns as cases continue to rise.
Covid-19 tally in Pakistan rises to 261,917
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 261,917 while the fatalities related to the virus has reached 5,522, ANI reported citing local media report.
JD(U) legislator tests Covid-19 positive
JD(U) legislator Khalid Anwar has tested positive for Covid-19, he announced on Saturday.
Currently, he is under home quarantine in Patna.
113 more deaths, 2,357 new infections in Philippines
The Philippines' health ministry on Saturday reported 113 new coronavirus deaths and 2,357 additional infections.
In a bulletin, the ministry said total deaths have increased to 1,773 while confirmed cases have reached 65,304, with the capital and Cebu City in central Philippines accounting for the bulk of the infections as the virus spreads.
South Africa's Covid-19 data may have underreported deaths
Experts say that tracking excess mortality could have led to underreporting of Covid-19 deaths in South Africa. The nation also has the world's largest HIV epidemic and hospitals say that they are buckling under pressure.
Tripura reports 118 new cases
Tripura's Covid-19 tally rose to 2,380 after 118 cases were reported. Three people have died so far.

Pakistan reported more than 1,900 new Covid-19 cases. The country recorded 261,917 cases. 5,522 people have died due to Covid-19.
25 million Iranians infected by Covid-19
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said more than 23 million Iranians have been infected with the coronavirus. He also highlighted that at least 35 million continue to remain at risk.

Odisha reports 591 cases of Covid-19
Odisha reported 591 cases and 3 deaths due to Covid-19. More than 16,700 cases have been recorded so far.

EC asks for suggestions regarding campaigning
As elections are scheduled to be held in the coming months in Bihar and leter on next year in Bengal, India's election commission has asked regional and national parties to send suggestions regarding holding election campaigns and public meetings.
