Several lawmakers throughout the world reiterated the need for wearing masks and maintaining social distance. New York City mayor De Blasio warned citizens against complacency. German Chancellor Angela Merkel doubled down on the need of wearing masks as several lawmakers said the rule is a trade-off if people want to travel freely again. Brazil president Jair Bolsonaro who diluted the mask-wearing law underwent a test for Covid-19 after developing symptoms.

Melbourne under lockdown as cases rise

Air New Zealand halts new bookings
Air New Zealand has decided not to take new bookings as the South-Pacific nation looks reduce the burden on overflowing quarantine facilities. The airline said that it will align 'daily arrivals with the capacity available at isolation facilities.'

Mexican health officials fear that pandemic can last till 2021
Mexico's health officials fear that coronavirus can continue to trouble the Latin American nation until 2021. Mexican Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell in an interview said he believes the death toll and infection tally are likely higher than reported figures.
