India's caseload of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is currently at 9,608,211 after the Union health ministry on Saturday reported that the country had logged a total of 36, 652 new infections in the previous 24 hours. While death toll mounts to 139,700 with 512 new deaths. Total active cases stand at 4,09,689.

The United States now has 14,772,535 coronavirus cases with 285,550 deaths. Number of recovered cases in the US stands at 8,658,882.

More than 65.19 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,511,680​ have died.

Italy reported 662 coronavirus-related deaths on Saturday against 814 the day before, the health ministry said, while the daily tally of new infections fell to 21,052 from 24,099.

UP CM Adityanath launches app to locate free Covid-19 test centres

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a mobile application that gives users the locations of free Covid-19 test centres within a radius of five kilometres in the state.

Launching the "Mera Covid Kendra" app, Adityanath said it was an initiative of the state government to help people who want to get themselves tested for the virus.

US reaches daily high of nearly 228,000 cases

Coronavirus infections continue to spread at record levels in the United States, reaching a new daily high of nearly 228,000 cases on Friday.

The 227,885 cases eclipses the previous high of more than 217,000 on Thursday, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The seven-day rolling average of Covid-19 attributable deaths in the US has passed 2,000 for the first time since the spring. It reached 2,011 on Friday.

Myanmar reports 1,527 new Covid-19 cases, caseload reaches 98,047

Myanmar on Saturday reported 1,527 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing its tally to 98,047.

Myanmar's health ministry also said the death toll from the coronavirus pandemic rose to 2,081 with 22 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.

Delhi reports 3,419 new Covid-19 cases

Delhi reported 3,419 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday taking the total count of cases in the national capital to 5,89,544.

According to the Delhi government health bulletin, 4,916 recoveries and 77 deaths were reported on Saturday.

The death toll has gone up to 9,574.

2,076 more contract Covid-19 in Rajasthan

Rajasthan reported 20 more Covid-19 fatalities on Saturday, taking their number to 2,409, while 2,076 new cases pushed the state's infection tally to 2,78,496.

According to the latest Health department bulletin, 23,176 patients are currently undergoing treatment for the disease in the state.

UP becomes first state to conduct over 2 crore Covid-19 tests

Uttar Pradesh has become the first state to have tested more than two crore samples for Covid-19, news agency ANI reported quoting Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad.

"No state has conducted so many tests so far. Yesterday 1,66,938 samples were tested whereas a total of 21,028,312 samples have been tested so far across the state," said Prasad, ANI reported.

100 cops in Ahmedabad test positive for Covid-19

100 police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus in Ahmedabad in the last four days. Among them two individuals have been hospitalised, while the rest are in home isolation. Ahemdabad has started a special drive to test around 1000 cops everyday, a total of 14,000 police personnel have been tested so far.

Moscow starts mass Covid-19 vaccination with its Sputnik V shot

Moscow began distributing the Sputnik V Covid-19 shot via 70 clinics on Saturday, marking Russia's first mass vaccination against the disease, the city's coronavirus task force said.
