India’s Covid-19 tally on Tuesday neared 2.27 million after more than 53,601 cases and 571 deaths were registered. The total number of recoveries in the country crossed 1.5 million, a record high which the health ministry attributes to its strategy of aggressive testing, tracking the treating those infected with the virus. As per government data, more than 10 states are responsible for at least 80% of the new infections in the country.
Delhi’s Covid-19 recovery rate crossed 90 per cent after more than 130k people recovered from the infection. The national capital has been witnessing a downward in the number of cases being registered on a daily basis. A three member central team which is in Hyderabad to review the management of coronavirus in Telanagana, asked the state government to ramp up testing and presented the 'Delhi model' as an example to curb the spread of Covid-19. Telanagana has been witnessing a spike in the number of positive cases in the last few days.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee, 84, was put on ventilator support on Monday after undergoing a brain surgery at the Army Research and Referral hospital, where he was admitted in the morning after testing positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19). He continues to remain critical and continues to be on ventilator support.
