As many as 149 people have lost their lives due to the virus in India. Global cases of Covid-19 are about to reach 1.5 million with death toll crossing 80,000. Wuhan, the city which was the epicenter of the pandemic, is seeing life staggering back towards normalcy as Hubei slowly lifts its 11-week lockdown. US has recorded more than 200 new deaths as 4 lakh people continue to be infected by Covid-19.

PM Modi says lockdown lifting not imminent
The Prime Minister has said due to that the lockdown will not be lifted anytime soon. He said this in a floor meeting with other parties' leaders.
'No other option other than staying at home', says CM Uddhav
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said there is no other option other than staying at home if the battle against the pandemic has to be won. He also requested retired army personnel to join the battle against Covid-19.
UP seals 15 districts including Noida
Movement to and from has been suspended in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Stringent restrictions will come into place on April 8 midnight. Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Shamli, Saharanpur which have reported high viral load will be sealed from April 8 to April 15.
Wayanad discharges 2 Covid-19 patients
Wayanad has released two among the three Covid-19 afflicted patients from the hospital. These people had tested positive after returning from foreign nations.

UK PM Boris Johnson continues to remain in Intensive Care Unit of the St. Thomas hospital after his coronavirus symptoms worsened. His junior health minister Edward Argar said that, "The prime minister is in a stable condition, he’s comfortable and in good spirits."
India's Supreme Court has said that Covid-19 tests should not be excessively charged
SC has asked the Centre to take notice and said, "Don’t allow private labs to charge high amount for tests. Create mechanism for reimbursement (of private labs) from government." A bench headed by Justices Ashok Bhushan and S Ravindra Bhat to ensure that testing be made feasible to the common people of the country.
Haryana's Nuh administration puts 36 villages inside containment zone
The Nuh district administration along with putting 36 villages in the district under containment zones has also barred entry to and exit from 148 villages. Nuh reported 23 new cases yesterday.
