The global tally of people infected by Covid-19 has crossed 2.5 million. As restrictions are being eased, major economies are finding it hard to mitigate the losses caused by the pandemic. US has suspended immigration for 2 months to save jobs as US' economy was badly hit due to coronavirus. In India, 20,471 people have been infected, with 640 people dead. More than 1,353 cases have been registered over the last 24 hours along with 50 deaths. Energy markets went up initially due to surge in Asian markets, but prices dropped by 12%.

India has reported 1,353 cases in 24 hours. It also reported 50 deaths.
Affected tally inches towards 20,000 nationwide
With Maharashtra topping the number of cases, India has recorded 19,984 cases and 640 deaths so fat.
Children in Spain can go out for walks
As deaths rate and new infections fell the Spanish government has permitted children to go out for walks or accompany their parents when they go for essential goods shopping.
Delhi-Noida border sealed off completely
The border between Delhi and Noida has been sealed as a preventive measure. SI Gurmukh Singh told ANI that only essential services are being allowed.

Politics over IMCTs continues in West Bengal
The state's chief secretary said that logistical support was not given to the IMCT team when it arrived to West Bengal to look into the state's handling of the pandemic. In a letter penned to the Union Home Secretary, the official mentioned that IMCT visited different part of Bengal to check lockdown implementation measures.

243 Canadians repatriated from Amritsar
A Qatar Airways flight with 217 Canadian passengers on board has departed from Montreal. Punjab's special chief secretary, KBS Sidhu told reporters that the flight will reach Canada via Doha.

CDC chief warns of 2nd wave of Covid-19
Dr Robert Redfield of the CDC warned that next winter could be harsher as possibility of Covid-19 to spread looms over the United States. During the daily White House press briefing he said, "We're going to have the flu epidemic and the coronavirus epidemic at the same time." He expressed concern that these cold strain the already affected healthcare system.

Haryana DGP Manoj Yadav said that it is unfortunate that 'misguided and mischievous elements' are attacking police officers amid the pandemic. Yadav told ANI that Haryana Police will ensure strict actions against those involved in such acts.

Chinese embassy in Canberra accused Australia of acting as a mouthpiece of US president Donald Trump. IT said that like US lawmakers some high--level officials in Australia were "spreading anti-China 'information virus'".

US is forcing its neighbours to reopen factories so that supply chains remain intact and free-flowing trade resumes between the North American nations. Workers in Mexico staged walkouts and protests at several factories across United States.
