Coronavirus cases in India mounted to 14,792 on Saturday, with the death toll touching 488, according to the ministry of health.

On Friday, RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said he would do "whatever it took" to help the staggered economy during the pandemic. Among other announcements, the RBI cut repo rate and pushed other banks to lend and provide liquidity support to struggling non-banks and ease asset classification norms. In another development, it was found that while India has used its Saarc Covid-19 Emergency Fund to send relief material worth $1.7 million to various countries, there has been no word from Pakistan, which had pledged to contribute relief worth $3 million to nations.
