On day-2 of India's lockdown 2.0, the number of people infected with coronavirus was 12,750 and the death toll stood at 420, according to the data released by health ministry at on Thursday. The global cases have crossed 2 million mark as people across 193 nation battle the pandemic. With more than 600,000 cases, US have now become the new epicentre for Covid-19 infections with more than 30,000 deaths.

PM Modi held telephonic conversation with King Abdullah where both leaders agreed that India and Jordan will work together to abate the crisis.

Officials told PTI that 92 people in the district have Covid-19 after 12 fresh cases were detected.
OPEC cuts down demand for oil once again
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries has said that global oil demand will contract by 6.9 million barrels per day. In the report, the oil producing countries highlighted, "The oil market is currently undergoing historic shock that is abrupt, extreme and at global scale. Downward risks remain significant, suggesting the possibility of further adjustments, especially in the second quarter."
Kerala coronavirus cases inch towards 400
7 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported from the state today. On Wednesday, only one single case was reported.

Irish PM Leo Varadkar says restrictions will be lifted over several months
Ireland Prime Minister Leo Varadkar told citizens that a vaccine, when it will be out, could pave way for leading lives normally. He told the parliament, "I don't yet know if we'll be able to relax restrictions on May 5, but I do know that if we can at all, it is going to be gradual and happen over a number of months."
Death toll in Pune due to Covid-19 touches 47
Fifty five year old Covid-19 patient died due to Covid-19 in the districts. Over 45 people have died so far in Pune, health officials told ANI.

Putin feels Covid-19 allows for stronger US-Russia ties
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media that Russian President Vladimir Putin has welcomed US President Donald Trump's decision to send ventilators to Russia. Russia would take Trump up on his offer "if need be", Peskov added.
35,000 foreign nationals from 38 nations repatriated
India has repatriated over 35,000 foreign nationals from over 35 countries. Most recently, UK nationals were flown back home on Wednesday from Kerala. More than 150 nationals were flown back home from Amritsar earlier today.
