Coronavirus clusters in Singapore and Seoul have raised concerns for governments who are trying to curb resurgence of fresh Covid-19 cases. Cases dropped in Seoul on Tuesday for the first time since August 10 during which the administration enforced tougher social distancing measures.
India on Thursday registered its highest ever-single day spike of 83,883 Covid-19 cases and 1,043 deaths which pushed the tally to over 3.8 million. The total cases include 8,15,538 active cases, nearly 30 lakh recoveries and 67,376 deaths.

272 fresh cases push Surat's Covid-19 tally to nearly 22,000
Surat recorded 272 new coronavirus cases on Thursday which took the case tally in the district to 21,762, the Gujarat health department said on Thursday. The daily rise in the number of cases in Surat was once again the highest in the state. Of 272 new cases, 179 cases were from Surat city while 93 cases were from other parts of the district, the department added, reports PTI.

As many as 109 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Meghalaya on Thursday, taking the state's tally to 2,626, Health Services director Aman War said. 75 people were cured of the disease during the day taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,393, reports PTI.
