2 teenagers shot at in Kanpur
Md Awez (14), a resident of Begumpura, Kanpur, and Shadeb (14) of Choti Bajariya, were injured on their way back from the mosque. Awez said he was hit by a bullet in his abdomen, while Shadab was shot in his leg. "We were going home after the namaaz and were hit by bullet," said Awez.

Authorities may allow illiterate citizens, who may not have any documents, to produce witnesses or local proofs supported by members of community. A well laid out procedure will be followed, the MHA spokesperson added.

In Meerut, a 20-year-old died of bullet injuries, and another man of the same age, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Dr Iqram Khan, the emergency medical officer, at the private hospital (Anand Hospital), Meerut, said: "Asif, 20, died of a gunshot while Salim is undergoing treatment."

'State won't let citizens' rights get affected': Uddhav Thackeray on CAA
"People should not worry about Citizenship Amendment Act. State government will not let the rights of citizens from any caste or religion get affected," said chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in state assembly.
He also appealed the people to stage protests in a democratic manner without resorting to violence. "The validity of the CAA is yet to be debated in the Supreme Court," Thackeray said in a statement.
