Assembly Election Polling 2019 Live Updates: The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance are fighting to win all of Maharashtra's 288 Assembly seats, where for the first time, BJP is contesting on more number of seats than the Shiv Sena. Congress and NCP will look to turn the tide despite defections unsettling both the parties. BJP has set a target of 75+ plus seats in Haryana where BJP, Congress, INLD, and JJP will fight to dominate 90 assembly constituencies. Congress, despite defections and resignations of high profile leaders, will look to seek advantage of the high unemployment rates and lack of women safety in Haryana to upset BJP's Haryana ambitions. BJP has used the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in their campaigns but as the nation goes through an economic slowdown and high unemployment the Assembly elections will indicate if the Opposition revival has begun following BJP's mega win in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Polling has begun in Maharashtra's Gondia where BJP-Congress go head to head as BJP's Gopaldas S Agarwal will look to retain his seat against Amar Varade of the Congress. GS Agarwal, defected to the BJP and had fought earlier from an INC ticket.

Voting to begin across 288 constituencies of Maharashtra
The ruling BJP which has allied with the Shiv Sena will try exercise their might over the 288 assembly constituencies which go for polls later today at 7 am. Maharashtra has deployed over three lakh central and state forces to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Haryana EC to webcast polling from 3100 vulnerable polling stations
Control rooms have been set up in Chandigarh where electoral officers will review the live footage and address concerns raised in social media as Haryana goes into polls. Congress, BJP, JJP and INLD will vie for dominance with BJP keen on winning more than 75 seats in the state's assembly elections. Voting will begin at 7 am today.
