India vs Bangladesh, 1st Test, Day 3 live score and updates
3rd wicket for Shami
GONE! There's no stopping Mohammed Shami, he picks up his third wicket. Another one that moves away after pitching, another one that could've been left alone but Mahmudullah pushed it at. The ball flew off the outside edge and this time, Rohit Sharma made no mistake in the slips. Bangladesh have lost half their side.
Liton Das, right-handed batsman, comes to the crease.
1st over of spin
After 23 overs, Virat Kohli decides to introduce spin and it's Ravindra Jadeja. A decent first over from the left-arm spinner, gives away only 1 run.
Day 3, session 2
Mohammed Shami starts the proceedings after Lunch. 3 runs from the over. Bangladesh desperately need a partnership here.
Lunch on Day 3
That will be Lunch on Day 3. Bangladesh have somehow crawled their way to 60 for 4. They still trail India by 283 runs. It has been a real struggle for the visitors in front of the relentless Indian fast bowlers.
No spin from India yet
20 overs have been bowled in this session and we are approaching lunch but Virat Kohli is yet to throw the ball to either Ashwin or Jadeja. This speaks about the dominance of the Indian seamers this morning. Shami has been unplayable, Ishant has been bringing the ball back in a long way and Umesh has mixing it up well.
Shami can do no wrong
Shami is bowling a sensational spell, he is getting the ball to shape away extremely late and is even getting a little bit of swing. He is absolutely steaming in, this is superb rhythm bowling, says our correspondent Manish Pathak from Indore.
That was a sitter! They say no catches are easy but that one was as close to be an easy as possible. Rohit Sharma the culprit at second slip. Shami hangs his head and walks back to his mark. Another beautiful delivery that just shapes away after pitching, Mushfiqur pushes at it with hard hands only to get an outside edge but Rohit fails to hold on to it. Bangladesh 48/4
Shami on a roll
CAUGHT! Brilliant bowling this from Shami! Short of a length ball on middle, Mithun gets hurried onto the shot and the ball goes off the top edge towards Agarwal at short mid-wicket. He settles under it and takes a simple catch.
Mahmudullah, right-handed batsman comes to the crease
Shami on the wickets column
OUT! LBW! Excellent review from Shami and India! One review was wasted and they have made full use of the second. Good length ball on middle and leg, Mominul moves towards the off side and looks to flick it. Shami puts in a huge appeal but the umpire shakes his head. He convinces Kohli to go for the review and he obliges. The Ball Tracker and it is showing all reds. The ball was going on to hit the leg stump. Bangladesh three down now and are in need of something special now.
Mushfiqur Rahim, right-handed batsman, comes to the crease.
First hour belongs to India
Bowled, beaten, thick edge, beaten again: The Indian seamers have once again rattled the Bangladesh top-order. Ishant, Shami and Umesh have been relentless in their approach.
OUT! Bowled! Right through the gate of bat and pad. A fast bowler's delight. India dominating. This is brilliant bowling from Ishant. Length ball pitching on off, Ishant makes the ball jag back in. Shadman looks to push it straight but the ball sneaks right through his bat and pad and goes onto hit middle and leg. This Indian side is lethal with the cherry in the hand and today has not been any different so far. Bangladesh two down and the trail is a massive 327.
India lose a review
Wickets missing! That was the gamble India took but as it turns out, the ball from Umesh did not come back in that much to hit the stumps. So India lose their review. But once again a very good delivery from Umesh. It just held the line, and Bangladesh captain shouldered his arms and the ball thudded onto his back leg.
BOWLED! What a ball from Umesh to castle Imrul Kayes! This is top class stuff from the Indian pacer. Full delivery on off, Kayes looks to drive it but it goes off the inside edge and roots the leg stump off the ground. Early wicket again falls for Bangladesh. Bangladesh: 10/1
Mominul Haque, left-handed batsman comes to the crease
Confident drive from Kayes
FOUR! A half-volley from Umesh and Kayes puts it away it style. A big stride forward, opening the face of the bat just at the last moment to find the gap - perfect cover drive.
Ishant starts well
Pace, a bit of swing a lot of carry - Ishant Sharma starts off brilliantly. The pitch suddenly looks a whole lot different. But credit Shadman too, he didn't poke at any of the deliveries and when he got one in his range, he pushed it straight to get off the mark with 3 runs. Bangladesh 3/0
