India face Bangladesh in the first of the two Tests at Indore.
Stumps on Day 1! Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal remained unbeaten as India finished on 86/1, trail by 64 runs. A good outing for the hosts and they will be looking to build on this solid foundation tomorrow.
A thick outside edge from Mayank Agarwal off Abu Jayed but Imrul Kayes missed an absolute sitter! Looks like it is not Bangladesh's day at all! Mayank made them pay on the very next ball as he slammed it for a four and India are 83/1
Earlier, Mohammed Shami led an inspired pace bowling attack as India dismissed Bangladesh for 150. Shami claimed three wickets, while fellow pacemen Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav took two apiece to pack off the tourists early in the final session in Indore. Mushfiqur Rahim put up a brief resistance with his 43, but Shami struck on successive deliveries to stop the Bangladesh tail from wagging.
Virat Kohli is all padded up but with such less overs to go, India may go for a nightwatchman. 21 overs gone and India are 72 for the loss of one wicket.
Mayank joins the party
Mayank Agarwal has also joined the party with one boundary off Ebadat Hossain and one late cut off Taijul Islam. Islam has been quite expensive till now and with 10 overs to go, India are 66 for the loss of one wicket.
Pujara on fire
This is brilliant batting from Cheteshwar Pujara! Ebadat Hossain strayed quite a bit from his line in this over and Pujara took full advantage of it! A boundary through fine leg followed by one through mid wicket and India are 56 for the loss of one wicket.
Ineffective spin attack
Bangladesh would have hoped for some magic from spinner Taijul Islam but that does not seem to be the case as Cheteshwar Pujara slammed him for three fours in the same over. One through covers, one through mid wicket and the third one through mid-wicket. IND 47/1
Good day for India
This has been an excellent day for the Indian cricket team as they were able to dismiss Bangladesh for just 150 and with more than 20 overs to play, they have the chance to solidify their innings. IND 34/1
Pujara in good touch
The outside the off stump length is not working for the Bangladesh bowlers and they are easy pickings for Cheteshwar Pujara. The right-hander is connecting well with the deliveries and he has already slammed two boundaries through the gully and point regions. IND 32/1
Mayank, Pujara steady
Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara have steadied the innings well after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and with 18 overs to go in the day, the hosts will look to not lose any more wickets. IND 28/1
OUT! A loose shot from Rohit Sharma but try and say that to Jayed. he would like to believe, he deceived Rohit all ends up to find his outside edge. A big wicket for Bangladesh, this should instill life in them after being bowled out for 150. India 14/1
Cheteshwar Pujara, right-handed batsman, comes to the crease.
Mix-up but no harm done
Better throw and Rohit could have been in trouble. Good length ball on off, Rohit punches it off his back foot to the right of cover. Mahmudullah there dives and makes a good stop. Rohit comes out for a single but Mayank sends him back. Mahmudullah sends a very weak throw at the keeper's end which sees Sharma make his ground in time.
Rohit off the mark
Rohit faces his first ball after waiting at the non striker's end for 3 overs and immediately gets off the mark with a couple. Jayed drifted down to the pads and Rohit flicked it with ease.
Mayank Agarwal starts with a cracking cover drive. Young Ebadot over pitches and Mayank didn't need a second invitation. A good start for India after bowling Bangladesh out for 150.
Bangladesh 150 all out
BOWLED! It's only just that Umesh Yadav picks up the final wicket. He has been just brilliant. He bowls it on a length on off, Hossain looks to defend it but the ball goes past the outside edge and hits the top off Stump. The Indian bowlers have done a terrific job.
