Congress wins seat in Latur Rural - Live Updates

Maharashtra assembly election results will be declared today, on October 24. The counting began at 8 am today. The notification was released on September 27. The nomination process concluded on October 4. Voting was done on October 21 in single phase.

Latur Rural: Latur Rural constituency lies under district Latur, and has a total electors of 3,21,705 voters, out of which there are 1,52,328 female voters and 1,69376 male electors. In 2014, the seat was won by Congress' Bhise Trimbakrao Shrirangrao with 1,00,897 votes and he defeated BJP's Karad Ramesh Kashiram who received 90,387 votes. In order to keep hold of the seat, Congress has fielded Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh from the constituency, who will face a tough battle against Shiv Sena's Sachin Alias Ravi Ramraje Deshmukh.

Latur City: Latur City constituency falls under Latur district of Maharashtra, with a total of 3,71,911 electors, out of which 177765 are female electors and 194145 are male electors. the seat was won by Congress' Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh in 2014. The third son of former Chief minister of the state will be looking to keep a hold on the seat, as he faces stiff challenge from BJP's Shailesh Govindkumar Lahoti.

Ahmadpur: Ahmadpur constituency comes under Latur district of Mahrashtra. It has total 320251 electors, out of which 150169 are female electors, while the remaining 170082 are male electors. In 2014, independent candidate Jadhav Patil Vinayakrao Kishanrao won the seat. He has joined BJP this year, and will be up against NCP's Babasaheb Mohanrao Patil.

Udgir: Udgir constituency falls under Latur district of Maharashtra. It has a total of 2,98,411 electors, out of which 140161 are female electors and 158250 are male electors. BJP MLA Sudhakar Sangram Bhalerao won the Assembly elections in 2014 and 2009. This year, BJP has fielded Anil Sadashiv Kamble from the constituency and he will face NCP's Bansode Sanjay Baburao among others.

Nilanga: Nilanga district falls under Latur district of Maharashtra. It has a total of 316197 electors, out of which 149322 are female voters and 166875 are male electors. Sambhaji Deeliprao Patil of BJP defeated Ashok Shivajirao Patil of Congress in 2014 to win the seat, and this year, the two will battle it out once again.

Ausa: Ausa constituency comes under Udgir district of Latur. It has a total of 316197 electors, out of which 149322 are female electors and 166875 are male electors. Congress' Basavraj Madhavrao Patil has completed two terms in the constituency and he will face a stiff challenge from BJP's Abhimanyu Dattatray Pawar for the seat this year.

Umarga: Umarga constituency comes under Osmanabad district. It has a total of 296746 electors, out of which 139266 are female electors and 157479 are male electors. The seat has been held by Shiv Sena 2009 with Dnyanraj Dhondiram Chougule winning the elections for the last two terms. He will defend his seat this year against MNS' Jalindar Shravan Kokane and Bhalerao Dattu Rohidas of Congress among others.

Nilanga: BJP's Nilangekar Sambhaji Diliprao Patil is in the lead over Congress' Ashokrao Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar with 32131 votes.

Ausa: BJP's Abhimanyu Dattatray Pawar is in the lead of Congress' Basavaraj Mahadvarao Patil with 24949 votes.
